Before you use this site

These essays are owned by this site and we do not allow you to publish them without first asking our permission.

  • These essays are intended as examples from which you might take ideas and we strongly request that you do not use them to cheat
  • We recognise that these works were influenced by the essays of Coleridge, they are not however, the same. Nonetheless, I wish to reference http://absoluteshakespeare.com as an excellent source of essays. Though I predict that users will find the essays on this site more accessible.
  • There may be some repetition from essay to essay. This is because if a criticism holds any water, it is likely to be relevant and true regardless of the difference in the question. Each essay is intended to be taken by itself but if a reader was to read through more than one essay it may be helpful to skip passages already read.
  • The Othello essays, while still of a high standard and likely very helpful, are of a markedly lower quality than the Hamlet & King Lear ones. We are working to improve these.
